A lover of fine food and wine, Kennedy Cellars’ Winemaker Vince Perla has always been an admirer of Maurizio’s. It was only natural to invite Kennedy Cellars Owner and fellow connoisseur, Jack Kennedy, to experience Maurizio’s food and hospitality firsthand. With Kennedy Cellars Wine in hand and sights set on the perfect menu pairings, a great outdoor happy hour conversation filled with laughter quickly turned to another passion mutually shared by Vince, Jack and Maurizio – cigars and bourbon. Fueled by Jack’s supply of both in preparation for a weekend at the shore, the conversation continued into the late hours with some great stories, accompanied by a fair share of cigars, bourbon and too many laughs to remember. Legend has it that if were not for Mother Nature’s intervention with a record setting torrential rain storm, the three of them may very well be there to this day.

The evening marked the beginning a great friendship that continues to this day.
